Share interesting posts, articles, cases, and slides with a privacy-focused network of peers and colleagues. KiKo's traffic has increased significantly since COVID-19, and is looking to hire a lead developer.

Job Description

KiKo is looking for a contract lead web developer to help execute against a sizable backlog of feature requests from our users. You’ll work closely with our founder to design, specify, and implement new features, as well as work to maintain and improve our existing web app. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a self-directed work environment, and can effectively communicate technical complexities and trade-offs. KiKo is seeking a one-year commitment.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
  • Collaborating with our founder and development team to write new features
  • Managing sprints
  • Understanding KiKo’s core business model, and identifying technical solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of our product
  • Identifying opportunities to improve software performance
  • Performing basic server maintenance
  • Prioritizing conflicting needs, and handling tasks efficiently and proactively

Qualifications

Required
  • Proficiency with Laravel and PHP more broadly
  • Proficiency with a Javascript framework like Vue, React, or Angular
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of object-oriented programming
  • Experience in writing feature/integration tests with PHPUnit
  • Experience with—or willingness to learn—TailwindCSS
  • Attention to detail: please include the name of a cat in your application
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of version control
Desired
  • Interest in medicine and medical technologies
  • Familiarity with Sketch, Figma, or other design tools
  • Familiarity with the basics of Ubuntu server administration
