Assessing Wait Times from Skin Cancer Biopsy Sign Out to Surgery

Summary: Delays in surgery for skin cancer can lead to tumor growth and lower probabilities of survival. Therefore, time from biopsy to surgical treatment can significantly impact patient outcomes. This study aims to investigate the time from skin cancer biopsy sign out to surgical treatment of skin cancer at an academic center in Pennsylvania and postulates ideas for improvement in surgical wait times.
