Summary: Aeromonas are a well-known cause of gastrointestinal illness in humans; however, extra-intestinal infections due to Aeromonas spp. have been increasingly reported, Aeromonas is a very rare cause of bacterial skin and soft tissue infection. The most common species isolated is Aeromonas hydrophila.
We report a rare Aeromonas septicemia presenting with hemorrhagic blisters of the lower extremities of a patient following freshwater exposure.
