Summary: Intramuscular corticosteroid injections are commonly used to treat inflammatory skin
disorders. Untoward events are infrequent and include bruising and dyspigmentation. Focal
lipoatrophy, documented by this case report, is another uncommon adverse event that may persist
for months to years resulting in long-term disfigurement engendering patient apprehension.
