Summary: The NSIA Cancer Center in Lagos, Nigeria, provides radiation therapy to 10,000 to 12,000 patients annually. Ensuring high-quality treatment through precise quality assurance (QA) mechanisms is vital for optimal patient outcomes. This study proposes the implementation of RADMachine, an advanced automated QA software, to enhance the quality and efficiency of radiation therapy services at the NSIA Cancer Center. The project will be conducted in five phases over 15 months: 1) Conducting a needs assessment and integration planning to identify current QA gaps; 2) Installing RADMachine and training radiation therapy staff; 3) Performing pilot testing to evaluate system performance and gather feedback; 4) Full deployment of RADMachine across the department; 5) Conducting an impact assessment to measure improvements in treatment accuracy, workflow efficiency, and patient safety. It is hypothesized that the integration of RADMachine will result in significant improvements in the precision of radiation dose delivery, streamline QA processes, and enhance overall patient safety. Success metrics will include enhanced QA reports, staff feedback, and measurable improvements in clinical outcomes. This initiative aims to establish a robust QA framework for radiation therapy in a resource-limited setting, with potential implications for similar facilities in the region. The anticipated outcomes could serve as a model for quality assurance advancements in cancer care across Nigeria. Oluwatimileyin E.
