Summary: This survey will be distributed with the goal of understanding current billing practices of adaptive radiation therapy users in the United States while also gauging the opinion of all practicing radiation oncologists about the future of billing for adaptive radiation therapy. Of note, this project is being completed as part of the ACRO Advocacy Fellowship in conjunction with members of the Government Relations & Economics Committee, the survey is still being developed, therefore there are no results to report yet. A two part survey will be distributed amongst ACRO members. The first part will be for all radiation oncologists, including non-users of adaptive radiation therapy. This portion of the survey will gauge how the community feels regarding adaptive radiation reimbursement, the relative additional reimbursement that is warranted with adaptive radiation therapy and whether a new and separate billing code should be created for adaptive radiation therapy.
The second part of the survey will only be for users of adaptive radiation therapy, where the survey will focus on their current clinical and billing practices to gauge the current landscape of adaptive radiation in the United States.
