Summary: When making cross-study comparisons, the onus of using a consistent methodology is on the investigator to allow for proper comparisons to be made. ›Here, we offer an unbiased methodology that can be applied consistently across studies with no more information needed than that given in a simple contingency table. ›Overall, we found no statistically significant differences in the ranges of 23-GEP sensitivity, specificity, PPV, or NPV between previous studies and the Boothby-Shoemaker et. al. cohort with this unified methodological approach. ›This study further confirms that the real-world accuracy of the 23-GEP in diagnostically ambiguous lesions is remarkably similar to that of previous validation studies.
