Summary: Cutaneous meningioma is a rare meningothelial neoplasm
when occurring outside of cranial vault and spinal column
• A meningioma can present in the skin as a primary lesion,
a direct extension or a local metastasis from an underlying
lesion in the meninges.
• The tumor grows with a broadly infiltrative pattern into
surrounding tissues with syncytial lobules of cells without
distinct borders, consisting of a whorled architecture and
round, regular nuclei with even nuclear chromatin and
small nucleoli.
• The diagnosis is made primarily on morphology with
immunostains playing a supporting role in exclusion of
other malignancies.
