Summary: Oncoplastic surgery is still in the developmental phase in Mongolia. In The National cancer center of Mongolia (NCC), it has been 3 years since we have started introducing pedicled flaps (LD or muscle sparing TDAP, LICAP, and TRAM) harvested from the back, belly, lumbar and/or the axillary region reconstruction after mastectomy. Adequate symmetry is obtained without operating on the contralateral breast. Adjuvant radiotherapy can be started after 4-6 weeks postoperatively. Also this technique provides safer resection with larger margins and immediate aesthetic results.
