Summary: This study presents one of the largest detailed characterizations of liver biopsies from patients with CD-associated liver injury. The biopsy findings from patients with CD-associated liver injury are heterogeneous and, in most, represent a concomitant underlying disease, particularly metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease. Additionally, CD-associated liver injury should remain in the differential diagnosis in liver biopsies with nonspecfic portal and/or lobular inflammation.
