Summary: This study assesses the emotional impact of patient interactions on dermatology providers, highlighting the high rates of physician burnout, particularly among women and minority groups. Negative interactions contribute to stress and burnout, while positive encounters enhance career satisfaction. Understanding these dynamics can improve provider well-being and the quality of care. A survey of 43 providers revealed that negative encounters often involve closed-off body language and language discordance, while positive interactions significantly boost mood and satisfaction.
